Why Twitter Unverified Osinbajo’s Account, Delete Tweets Revealed

Micro-blogging social network Twitter on Friday unverified the account of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Naijaparry reports.

The hit took place on Friday night and early Saturday, but all 2,399 tweets previously made by the vice-president and former attorney general of Lagos state were all gone.

Reacting to the incident, the spokesperson of the vice-president, Laolu Akande, said there were failed external attempts to gain unauthorized access to the account, so the office of the VP has been in contact with Twitter, securing the account, and forestalling a reoccurrence.

This online news medium reports that all tweets by the account have since been deleted and his profile picture and header image have been taken down.

The account which no longer shows up in Twitter query was said to have been suspended, retrieved and unverified — all in less than 24 hours.

The archived version of Osinbajo’s account was accessed and his last tweet was from July 28, 2019 — after visiting the home of Precious Owolabi, the Channels TV reporter killed in the Shi’ites-Police clash in Abuja.
