After President Muhammadu Buhari visited Borno on Wednesday, the leader of Boko Haram terror group Abubakar Shekau asked him not to return to the state again.

Naijaparry reports that Buhari had gone to pay a condolence visit to the people of the state over the killing of 30 persons on Sunday.

Jiddari Polo in Maiduguri came under attack by Boko Haram fighters hours after the president departed the city.

But in a video obtained by TheCable, Shekau, in Hausa language, said Buhari had been pretending to be a good person.

Shekau said, “Buhari, fear your Creator. God said you don’t have up to a spider’s web. But you think you are a major general. l swear, you are nothing… Buhari, I am talking to you, you’ll know no peace. Don’t come back to Maiduguri.

“Just go and sit down and think over my comments. And if u think, I am the one disrupting your affairs, honestly I am not. You have deceived the people by telling them you are a just leader; carry on!”

Speaking on the Chibok girls who were abducted in 2014, Shekau said, “Those who are shouting Bring Back Our Girls, Bring Back Our Girls, the only way to have those girls back is for our men in prison to be released.”

Shekau did not end there, as he also tackled the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, for saying the insurgents had been defeated.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted as residents of Maiduguri, Borno State booed President Muhammadu Buhari when he paid a sympathy visit to the state following the recent attack by Boko Haram sect.

Recall Naijaparry earlier reported that residents of the state booed the President on his arrival at the state today.

The party advised the president to take other steps beyond his sympathy visit, towards ending the killings in the state and other parts of the country.

A statement by PDP’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said the “ booing of President Buhari in Borno State is a clear message to him that Nigerians hold him responsible for the escalated insecurity in the country.

” The booing also shows a loss of confidence in the Buhari Presidency and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).”

The party further advised the President not to limit his visit to Borno State but also visit other parts of the country, including Kaduna, Kano, Benue, Plateau, Yobe, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kogi, Niger, Taraba and other
states to “ face the feelings of Nigerians as well as view the national devastation his poor handling of security and infrastructure has caused our nation.”

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that Boko Haram insurgents have cut off Maiduguri, Borno state capital, from the national electricity grid.

In a statement on Monday, TCN spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, said the insurgents damaged the electricity equipment serving the state capital and its environs.

She said the agency is making efforts to restore electricity supply in the area as soon as possible.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby inform the public that Maiduguri and its environs have been cut off from the National Grid since January 17, 2020, due to damages to TCN’s equipment by insurgents,” Mbah said.

“The incident affected the 330kV transmission line between Maiduguri and Damaturu. Also, the Damboa – Maiduguri 132kV transmission line has equally been disconnected from the grid for some time, for the same reason.

“TCN has located the fault on the Maiduguri – Damaturu line and has arranged to repair the line. Bulk electricity would be restored to Maiduguri on or before January 20, 2020.

“TCN pledges to continue to work to ensure bulk electricity transmission and grid expansion nationwide. The company wishes to use this opportunity to commend the Nigeria Armed Forces for their continued support especially in areas prone to insecurity.

“TCN regrets inconveniences caused by this problem to electricity consumers in the affected areas.”
