See Why The Wedding Ring Is Worn On The Fourth Finger

Getting married can be one of the most magical and amazing experiences in a person’s life.

This theory comes from Chinese tradition, and is rooted in a belief that the marriage bond is the strongest and most important bond of all.

According to Chinese beliefs.
1. Your thumb represents your parents.
2. Your index finger represents your siblings.
3. Your middle finger represents yourself.
4. Your fourth finger represents your life partner.
5. The little finger represents your children.

So, according to the Chinese, the fourth finger represents your life partner. Kinda arbitrary, right? But try this: hold your thumbs, index fingers, fourth fingers and pinky fingers tip to tip, and bend your middle fingers and hold them joint to joint just like how it’s shown below:

Your middle fingers are bent because they represent yourself (and you can never be separated from yourself). Now, holding that position, try doing the following exercises:

Your middle fingers are bent because they represent yourself (and you can never be separated from yourself). Now, holding that position, try doing the following exercises:

1. Try separating your thumbs (parents). They will open.

This is because you will not be living with your parents forever. One day you’ll have to live in a different roof other than theirs.

2. Separate your index fingers (siblings), and still, they will open.

Again, you will not play around with your brothers and sisters all of your life. They’ll have to lead their own lives and start their own families.

3. Try separating your pinky fingers (children), and as expected, they will open

As much as you’d like to keep your children in your loving care forever, they will still have to go away… The same as you separated from your parents, and your parents from their own parents…

4. Lastly, try to separate your two ring fingers (your spouse). What happens?

Surprisingly enough, it won’t open, no matter how hard you try. And to the Chinese, that represents something great. This means that your life partner and you are meant to be together for all your lives, for sickness and in health, for the good times and the bad. Quite a romantic thought, innit?
