PhotoNews:105 SDP Members Join PDP In Osun

Leaders and members of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ife Zone have dumped their party and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Naijaparry reports.

The defectors, about 105 were welcomed into their new party by the PDP Chairman in the state, Hon Soji Adagunodo and other party stakeholders at Enu’wa in Ile ife, Osun state on Monday.

Led by Hon John Fasogbon, Hon. Akin Famuyide and Hon Leader Adeyinka Adeniji, the defectors vowed to work and ensure that PDP takes over governance in the state.

Speaking at the programme while receiving the decampees state, Adagunodo thanked PDP stakeholders in the Ife zone for the good job done to bring back the SDP leaders back home.

A leader of the PDP, Akogun Lere Oyewumi who decorated the decampees from Ife East tasked them to work on other leaders and members of PDP who are still in other political parties to return back to PDP.

He said, “we need the strength used in 2003 to win 2022 and 2023 general elections”

Receiving decampees from Ife South local government led by Hon Akin Famuyide and SDP chairman in Ife South, Hon Rauf Ademola, Elder Sunday Akanfe Atidade appreciated the decampees also charged them to see PDP as their home.

In his own reaction Hon. Adeyinka Adeniji said their coming back to PDP is not to fight anyone but to rescue Osun state. He said they are ready to work assiduously to ensure PDP regain power.

Present at the programme include Osun PDP state Chairman Hon Olasoji Adagunodo, Former PDP National Secretary, Prof Wale Oladipo, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, Alhaji Fatai Diekola, Hon Ajilesoro Taofeek Abimbola, Oluomo Gbenga Owolabi, Hon. Sunday Akanfe Atidade, Hon. Bola Ajao, Hon. Adesoye Oyetunde, Hon. Tunde Abesin, Hon. Wale Ojo, Alhaji Remi Arogundade, Hon. Wale Adebayo, Hon. Kunbi Oladimeji, Hon Akin Akinsolugba and many others.
