Osogbo NBA Sets up committee to Facilitate Court Of Appeal in Osun

The Osogbo Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association has inaugurated a committee to facilitate a division of the Court of Appeal in Osun State.

This effort is a response to yearnings for establishment of the Appellate Court in the state.

The committee is made up of Mr. G. A. Adesina as Chairman, Mr. Soji Oyetayo as Alternate Chairman, Mr. Phillips Afolayan as Secretary while members include Mr. A. O. Sanusi, Mrs Julie Olorunfemi, Mr. S. B. Ajibade, Mr. F. N. Ukaegbu, Mrs C. O. Fasugba-Odutayo, Mrs S. O. Ola, Mr. Akintayo Oyedele, Mr. Olusola Ajao.The committee members have been issued with letters of appointment, according to a statement made available to Naijaparry by the NBA in Osogbo.

Christened Court of Appeal facilitation committee, it is expected to lobby the government of Osun State through the office of the Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Osun State, towards making the state government see the long overdue need to demand the approval of a division of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria for Osun State.

The would also reach out to other Branches of the NBA in Osun State for their collaboration in achieving the location of a division of the Court in the state.

It would also contact and persuade other prominent and influential Nigerians, whether legal practitioners or not, to support and help in realising the purpose of the Committee.

The committe would also be expected to do all other things lawful and necessary to ensure the realisation of the Committee’s mandate.
