JUST IN: EACOED Bursar, Lukman Opasina, Dies

The Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo community was today thrown into a mournful mood as the sad news of the demise of the College Bursar, Alh. Lukman Adeniyi Opasina was reported.

He was reported to have died this afternoon at a private hospital in Ibadan.

Born on April 5, 1960, Alh. Lukman Adeniyi Opasina attended Ilora Grammar School, Ilora, Oyo State. He was a product of The Polytechnic, Ibadan where he had both OND and HND Accountancy. He topped it up with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a professional qualification/membership of ANAN. He joined the service of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo (formerly St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo) and rose through the ranks to be appointed by the Oyo State Government as the Bursar, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo on May 16, 2014. Prior to his appointment, he had served as the College Assistant Director/Finance and Chief Internal Auditor.

Alh. Lukman Adeniyi Opasina was a proud family man and a man of many parts. He was a member of many social clubs among which is the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes.

The Provost, Dr. Rasaq A. Adefabi, JP described the death of the College Bursar as a colossal loss to the College.

According to him, “the College Management and indeed the entire College Community has lost a gallant officer. His contributions were very legendary and he shall be sorely missed.”

He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant his wife, children, friends, colleagues and indeed the entire College Community the fortitude to bear the huge loss.

Meanwhile, the remains of the College Bursar, Alh. Lukman Adeniyi Opasina has been committed to mother earth in a private cemetery at Ibadan this evening.

The event was witnessed by the College Management led by the Provost, Dr. Rasak A. Adefabi, JP, Deans of Schools, Dean of Students, Directors of Programmes, Deputy Registrars, Union leaders, family members, friends and associates.
