Hussein Akeem Emerges Oke Ogun Poly Students’ Union President

Students of the Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS) have elected Hussein Akeem Adewale as the president to run the affairs of the students’ union for the 2019/2020 academic session after he garnered the highest votes of 718 to defeat Yussuf Ibrahim who has 509 votes at the just concluded students union elections of the institution.

This was contained in the election result signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Electoral Committee and approved by the institution’s management which was made available to newsmen in Saki on Friday.

The election which was witnessed and observed by security operatives and members of staff of the institution to ensure law and order also has Awwal Ridwan elected as Vice president, Ogunrinde Oluwagbemi as General Secretary, Adeleke Ademola as Assistant General Secretary, Hassan Mariam as Financial Secretary, Salaudeen Babatunde as Auditor, Ogunbiyi Khadijat as Treasure, while Nasirudeen Ibrahim and Abdulazeez Ibrahim were elected as sports and social secretaries respectively.

Meanwhile, parents, guardian, students, staff and the entire populace have been implored by the Polytechnic’s Management to disregard rumours purportedly being peddled by some non students of the institutions that there is pandemonium on the Polytechnic campus as a result of the students union elections, as academic and other normal activities of the institution are going on smoothly.

They therefore urged both members of staff and students to go on with their normal businesses as security operatives are on ground to ensure peace and order on campus.
