Ede Poly News: What ASUP Said Over Shift Of Second Semester Exam

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Federal Polytechnic Ede chapter will on Monday stage a peaceful protest on campus to sensitize the polytechnic management about their plight and refusal to honour their request.

Naijaparry reports that the students of the institution were supposed to start their second semester’s examinations for the 2018/2019 academic session on Monday, September 9th, 2019.

But, the exam was learnt to be disrupt by ASUP’s proposed protest.

The Registrar, in the words on Friday, said, the School while reacting on the threat of Strike action by the Academic Staff Union of the Polytechnic ASUP, opined that ‘No going back, it a family matter and that it will be resolve amicably.”

In view of the above, the Second Semester Examinations will commence 11th Wednesday  September, 2019.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of ASUP in the institution, Mr. Masopa, told newsmen that the association was only expressing its grievances toward opposition, injustice and ill treatment from the school management.

Masopa noted that the policies and decisions of the Rector of the polytechnic, Mr Adekilekun, were hostile and against the welfare of ASUP members in the school.

He commended the students for their understanding as the union continued to fight for its rights.

The protest is expected to hold on Monday, 9th September 2019 in the main campus of the polytechnic, Ede.
