Deadline For Uploading of O’level Results to JAMB Portal

Deadline For Uploading of O’level Results to JAMB Portal

We’re all aware JAMB requires all candidates to upjad their O’level results to the body’s portal. This is the only way the matriculation body can offer you admission if you eventually merit it.

This warning is not limited to JAMB, each institution is asking their applicants to make sure they upload their SSCE results. In fact, some include it in their post UTME instructions.

But the question that needs to be answered is. “When is the closing date for uploading of the results”? In other words, candidates want to be sure of the deadline so they can know when to visit the nearest CBT centre for the scanning and uploading.

When is JAMB Going to End Uploading of SSCE Results?

This question is often asked by candidates who are awaiting NECO, WAEC, NABTEB or GCE results. So also, candidates who didn’t go with their result printout when registering UTME in the first place.

Below is the direct answer.

No official deadline for uploading of O’level result to JAMB portal. So also, no official closing date announced by individual universities, polytechnics or college of education.

But there is more to know before you go for a deep sleep.

What is JAMB Position on the Final Date?

JAMB generally wants all admission seekers to upload their results before you can gain admission into any school through UTME.

However, they give you the opportunity to use awaiting results if you’re still expecting your WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or GCE result to be released.

As a result, the body requires you to go back to any CBT centre (not necessarily) where you registered your UTME) to upload the result as soon it is released. They hope these results will be out before your proposed schools start releasing their admission lists.

Therefore, what is important to JAMB is for all applicants to do the uploading before admission lists start to be coming out for their schools.

What is Your Institution’s Position on Final Date?

Each school is worried that their applicants may miss admission if their O’level results are not with JAMB. This is why they’re clamouring you must upload before their admission lists are sent to JAMB for processing.

In other words, each school will send the lists of admitted candidates to JAMB to upload to CAPS. And if your O’level result is not uploaded, JAMB will drop you off the list – until you upload it.

Therefore, the school is not clamouring because they won’t offer you admission. It’s because even if they offer you without uploading your O’level results, JAMB will still drop you off the list.

Conclusion

JAMB doesn’t announce a specific date to end the uploading of results. A few schools may announce the deadline because they believe, by that date, they would be forwarding admission lists to JAMB for uploading.

Hence, it’s compulsory to watch out for your school post UTME deadline and ensure you upload before or that time. Don’t forget, after post UTME comes the admission lists.
