Nigeria‘s Odion Jude Ighalo fired home his fifth goal of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON ) 2019 against Tunisia in Cairo on Wednesday.

It leaves him two clear of his closest challengers: Riyad Mahrez, Adam Ounas, Cédric Bakambu and Sadio Mane.

Naijaparry reports that though with a maiden AFCON medal around his neck, it wasn’t a totally sweet evening for Ighalo, 30.

Almost reduced to tears, the China-based striker limped off the pitch and had to be consoled by his trainers after pulling his hamstring as he raced off a counter and tried to make a pass.

But, he hopes to cling on to the golden boot and expect that neither of Mane nor Ounas scores twice in Friday evening’s final as they both trail him by more than one goal.
